Practicum Placement

Students that prefer shorter program durations can take advantage of our practicum-based programs, where the practicum component represents only 20% of the overall program duration. While practicum placement is an unpaid opportunity, it still offers CCTB students with valuable experience in the field and a faster program completion and graduation time.

CCTB is designated by the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the Ministry of Advanced Education. PTIB is dedicated to student protection and sets specific criterion for standards of quality which must be met by its recognized institutions.

Why study with us? 

CCTB is designated by The Education Quality Assurance (EQA). The EQA designation identifies BC public and private post-secondary institutions that have met or exceeded Provincial government-recognized standards for quality assurance and consumer protection.

• Good command of English language
• High school diploma or equivalent from an approved government of applicant's home country, or applicant is minimum 19 years of age
• Students are required to bring their own computers to class

For non-native English speakers:

• Successful completion of CCTB EAP (English for Academic Purposes) Level 4 or
• Have the required IELTS 5.5 score or equivalent or
• Pass the CCTB English Assessment (Written onsite or online with exam proctor)

Diploma in Postgraduate Certificate in Security Operations Analyst with Co-op

Studying Postgraduate Certificate in Security Operations Analyst, including a co-op component, will prepare students to gain knowledge of SOC processes, procedures, technologies, and workflows. Gain a basic understanding and in-depth knowledge of security threats, attacks, vulnerabilities, attacker’s behaviors, cyber kill chain, etc.

This program focuses on the fundamentals of SOC operations, before relaying the knowledge of log management and correlation, SIEM deployment, advanced incident detection, and incident response. Additionally, you will learn to manage various SOC processes.
